TRAME, the story begins

TRAME · Project Diary — First Update

TRAME opens a space where people with diverse backgrounds can connect by doing something together: writing, photography, recording, and experimenting with theater. The program is free and requires no prior experience: it begins with a willingness to share, listen, and collaborate. The first event is October 28 2026 at the Intercultural Center of the City of Turin.

A space to speak

In the TRAME workshops, participants will write texts, experiment with digital tools, and work with photography. Theater will complement these languages, also giving space to the body and voice. Activities to be enjoyed together, to express oneself, share experiences, and get to know one another.

The official profile of the City of Turin presents three phases: creative writing, multimedia storytelling, and theatrical performance. From articles and testimonies collected from those working in reception centers, the process will open up to contributions from the group, to be developed into texts, podcasts, and images. A conclusion open to the city is planned: Torino Plurale , with an exhibition and performance.

For FACEWORK , participating in TRAME means bringing reception work to a cultural space in the city: helping people speak up, recognizing their skills, and building something to share. This is the direction outlined in the project presentation .

How to participate

The workshop is aimed at adults with a migrant background and Turin residents who want to share a creative experience. Participation is free , and no prior writing, photography, or theater skills are required.

The group can accommodate up to 16 participants . The municipal information sheet allows for applications throughout the year, subject to availability and the group's current stage of development. Placement must be agreed upon with the organization.

The first thread of our diary

With this announcement, we begin the TRAME diary: a story that will follow the journey as it takes shape. Today, we're sharing the launch; future updates will feature the meetings, workshops, and materials produced.

Writing, listening, choosing an image, trying to shape a voice: these will be the steps we'll take to tell the project's story. The thread that holds them together is the opportunity to create culture through encounters, and to bring different experiences and perspectives into the same space.
